Security

Comtronix is one of Wyoming’s largest alarm companies and a charter member of the Wyoming Burglar and Fire Alarm Association. Our installation and service technicians are certified by both the manufacturer of the system and/or by a national training program. Ongoing training is provided as well for our technicians to keep them up to date on current technologies for our systems.

When proposing a security system, several criteria are considered in the design of the system. Lifestyle, ease of use, critical detection and false alarm prevention are all important factors in designing an effective system. When a properly designed and installed system is augmented by our 24-hour alarm monitoring service, peace of mind can be attained very affordably and effectively. Many different alarm monitoring options are available to further customize your system from open/close reporting and monthly activity reports to Uplink cellemetry backup reporting. Also, with a properly equipped system, carbon monoxide, water and temperature reporting are also available.

Fire Systems

Whether you own a business or have a home and/or a family, protecting against loss of life and property due to fire should be of highest priority. Choosing a contractor to best support you in those concerns is an important step. Fire systems are code-driven, life-safety systems, and technicians should be trained and certified, and prompt in response. Our technicians are certified by FireLite and also by NICET (National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies) Level 1 to Level 4, and are experienced in keeping equipment components working correctly at all times.

Comtronix can design, install, service, test and provide monitoring services for small to large fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional hardwired systems. Depending upon the application, systems may include any combination of photoelectric and ionization smoke detectors, heat detectors, manual pull stations, duct smoke detectors, fire alarm horns and horn/strobes and more. Systems can also be designed to be ADA compliant.

We can also design and provide a comprehensive testing program to help keep your fire alarm system in compliance with NFPA standards. Depending upon your system, testing programs can be set up around your schedule and may be accomplished annually or tested in phases every month. Full test and inspection results can be logged and the log kept with the system for easy reference.

Access Control

Comtronix provides, installs and services several types of Access Control systems for a variety of applications. Where there is a need for security controlled access to sensitive areas, Comtronix has a solution. Comtronix has teamed with DSX Access Systems to provide state-of-the-art access control. We can also service many Northern Computers access systems.

Systems can be configured according to the customer’s needs. The door key is no longer a secure means of protection, as they can be easily copied. Access can now be more securely accomplished via keypads, proximity cards or biometric technologies including fingerprint ID or retinal scanners. Smaller systems are also available for controlling access to one or two areas. Systems may be programmed to automatically lock or unlock at designated times of the day or days of the week for ease of use. Systems can also provide an audit trail that records who is accessing areas, the time and date of the access, and can provide information about attempted access to areas by unauthorized individuals.

Regardless if you need to control access to an entire complex or just one area, Comtronix can design a system to meet your needs.

CCTV / Surveillance

Closed-circuit television systems became available in the U.S. in 1949 to record the launch and flight of rockets for troubleshooting malfunctions. Now this type of system is being used world-wide for surveillance in public places, from parking lots and fuel stations to banks and city centers. Capturing and reviewing recorded events can be a very effective tool in limiting losses and can aid in the apprehension of suspects.

The key to effective surveillance is to use the appropriate number and style of cameras in the most advantageous places, and the ability to retrieve useable video from such equipment. Using one camera for a large space, for example, will not always provide the clear picture needed to identify all subjects. To ensure that you have the right recorders, cameras, and correct placement of cameras, enlist the aid of a design specialist. He or she can help you decide which equipment would be most beneficial to your application.

Our own Phil Pike, design specialist and sales manager, has 10 years experience and can easily create a design specific to your needs and preferences. Comtronix is an authorized Panasonic Security Systems Group dealer. Panasonic is a leader in the CCTV system surveillance industry and is constantly developing new and innovative CCTV products. Systems can be designed for your business or home around your application and may include any combination of cameras, monitors, DVR’s (Digital Video Recorder) or NVR’s (Network Video Recorder).

We have installed systems in convenience stores, schools, manufacturing facilities, banks, credit unions, residences and various other sites where there is concern to monitor customer or employee activities and safety. Systems can be installed in the open or covertly, depending upon the application. With the advent of DVR’s, systems can be monitored or controlled locally or remotely via the customer’s network and a high speed Internet connection.
