Staff Qualifications / Licenses

Comtronix was founded in 1989 by Richard Fisher, Bruce Kopperud, and Rob Dobler in a small office on East ‘A Street in Casper, Wyoming. In 1993, we hired our first employee, Troy White, who is still with us and is now our installation / service manager. Three years later, we hired Scotty Lehner, who is now a senior technician and access control specialist.

In 1997 we opened an office in Riverton, after acquiring another alarm company’s accounts. Two years later, we acquired the accounts of a major competitor in Casper, solidifying our position as a major systems integrator in the state. During this time, Tom Sisco came to work for us. By 2000, we had outgrown our office and moved to a new location at 1240 W. Collins.

In 2001, Phillip Pike, our design specialist, joined our team and launched our sales department. We opened our Sheridan office in 2003 when we obtained the accounts of an alarm company going out of business there, giving us three locations in the state. Before long, we again outgrew our Casper office and bought the building at 800 W. Collins in February of 2009. We undertook the task of improving the building and remodeling to suit our needs, and now enjoy being part of Casper’s historic Old Yellowstone District.

President Richard Fisher retired from the company January 1, 2011, and Bruce Kopperud became our new president. Our company now consists of 17 outstanding employees throughout our three locations.

These technicians are trained and certified by our system manufacturers and / or a national training program. They are available 24 hours a day and provide free system training for the life of your system. Our company offers no one-size-fits-all system, but instead a custom system designed around your needs as a business or homeowner, and with all budget levels in mind.

We provide state-of-the-art equipment and service, and our monthly monitoring fees are highly competitive. We’re always looking for innovative technologies in order to give you the most up-to-date and convenient customer service.

Comtronix is a member of the Casper, Riverton, and Sheridan Chambers of Commerce, NFPA (National Fire Protection Association), ICC (International Code Council), Better Business Bureau, ESA (Electronic Security Association) at alarm.org and ESTA (Electronic Security & Technology Association) at estassociation.org.
